NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (April 1, 2016) – Reigning ACM New Artist of the Year Cole Swindell has just earned Platinum certification from the RIAA for his self-titled debut album. The album boasts his first four No. 1 singles as a solo artist, including Gold-certified “Let Me See Ya Girl” as well as Platinum-certified mega hits “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” and “Chillin’ It.” In just two years since its release, Cole Swindell has sold nearly four million tracks and accumulated more than 210 million streams.

“Wow, I just got the news about my album going Platinum, and I am so taken aback,” reveals Swindell. “That is one of those things you hope you can achieve but can never really prepare yourself for it actually happening. Being a part of the country music family is something I take seriously, and I am truly honored.”

Just announced as a performer at the 51st Annual ACM Awards being held Sunday, April 3rd in Las Vegas on CBS, the certification comes to the rising superstar the same week he scores his fifth consecutive No. 1 single of his solo career as “You Should Be Here” tops Billboard’s country chart and, for the third straight week, tops the Hot Country Songs chart, which includes streaming, radio airplay and digital sales. “You Should Be Here,” co-written by Swindell and Ashley Gorley, has sold over 430,000 copies and racked up more than 20 million streams.

Swindell is also set to launch a “You Should Be Here” Scavenger Hunt with Shazam, representing the first musical artist ever to do so.  In a unique first in terms of new album music promotions, Swindell’s fans will be able to Shazam select Cole Swindell images and audio beginning tomorrow, Saturday April 2nd for a chance to win a trip to New York City for his album release of You Should Be Here, his second album with Warner Bros./Warner Music Nashville, coming May 6th.

As the first country artist to ever perform a Shazam NYC Session with one of the world’s most popular apps this transmedia musical event will utilize all three of Shazam’s technologies -- audio, visual, and geo-location technology -- to launch a nationwide scavenger hunt from April 2nd – 18th. The hunt will lead to a final round in New York City with five winners, where the ultimate winner is awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Nashville during CMA Fest this June courtesy of Warner Music Nashville. Shazam is used by more than 120 million people each month. By building on its pioneering leadership in music identification, Shazam visual recognition technology now helps people discover, interact with, and share video, audio, or printed content on TV, radio, movie screens, magazines, newspapers, packaged goods, and retail stores.
