NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Global entertainer Elle King released her version of Joe Cocker’s “Feelin’ Alright.” The new track was produced by Wendy Wang and recorded for the new DreamWorks Animation action comedy, “The Bad Guys.” The song is available now – listen here.
“The Bad Guys,” arriving in theatres April 22, is based on the New York Times best-selling book series, where a crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws are about to attempt their most challenging con yet – becoming model citizens. “Feelin’ Alright” is featured at the end of the film over the main end credits.
Earlier this month, Elle released her “stompin’ and righteous” (MusicRow) new track “Out Yonder,” which CMT deemed “the dash of spice the country music genre has been craving for quite some time.”
“Out Yonder” arrived on the heels of her Video of the Year win at the 57th ACM Awards for “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert, which marks the pairs second joint win, previously taking home Music Event of the Year in 2020 for “Fooled Around and Fell In Love.” The Top 5 smash hit is now Platinum certified and has amassed over 220 million on-demand streams.
Elle wrapped her headline Drunk And I Don’t Wanna Go Home Tour last night at Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. RIFF Magazine said, “Roots rocker Elle King transcended several genres at her performance…blending elements of country, soul, rock, pop and blues at the show.” She’s also gearing up for her opening stint on Chris Stapleton’s All American Roadshow tour, with dates in Canada kicking off next month. “Elle King is a little bit country, a little bit rock n’ roll, but ultimately, she’s punk as fuck.” – Rolling Stone
“…King churned the clotted cream of punkish country, raw R&B, crotchety rock and deep blues into rich, buttery musical drama…(she) belted, crooned, purred, sauntered and swaggered her way through a tautly rocking set…one thing became very clear: nearly every song was equally contagious, catty-cool, and hit-worthy.” - Variety
