Jake Owen Has #1 Album

JAKE OWEN’S AMERICAN LOVE DEBUTS AT NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD’S
TOP COUNTRY ALBUMS CHART AND NO. 4 ON BILLBOARD 200

Nashville, TN - Jake Owen’s highly- anticipated fifth studio album, American Love, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

“What an awesome feeling to wake up and find out that AMERICAN LOVE is the No. 1 country album,” says Owen. “And, I can’t believe that it debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. That’s a first for me and I’m so pumped about that. I poured my heart and soul into making this album and I’m thrilled to know that people like it. We are forging ahead on this great journey. I love that so many people are on this path with me.”

The debut single, “American Country Love Song,” is currently No. 6 and climbing on Billboard Country Airplay & Country Aircheck’s Mediabase charts and poised to hit the Top 5 next week.

Owen has performed 21 of the past 26 days promoting his new album. One of his most memorable moments is from July 29th. The day AMERICAN LOVE was released, Jake had a show in Minot, ND, so he drove the “Love Bus” to the local Walmart to share some love with the people there. One very special person he met was Amy, who is a leukemia survivor and had just finished her chemotherapy treatments. Owen immediately showered her with hugs and invited Amy and her family to join him on stage at his show that night. Check out Jake’s album release day recap.

Here’s what the critics are saying:
PEOPLE Magazine: The Floridian is true to his laid-back southern sound…he lets the good times roll, focusing on family & friends.

Entertainment WeeklyAmerican Love, Owen's fifth studio LP, is his strongest musical statement to date.

Associated Press: Owen shines in steel pedal simplicity on “LAX,” a California country song he co-wrote with Nathan Chapman and Andrew Dorff that uses the city of Los Angeles as a metaphor for a broken relationship. And he holds his own vocally on “If He Ain’t Gonna Love You,” in which powerhouse singer Chris Stapleton provides backup vocals.

Billboard: Alongside pining ballads and pop-philosophizing are sounds that skillfully blend programmed precision with deliberately baggy grooves and a generous helping of bohemian imagery.

MASHABLE: While American Love is most definitely a country album, it's also brewed with elements of jazz, R&B and rock.

Taste of Country Critic’s Pick: American Love is Owen’s finest album to date because he lets loose of the reins and cannonballs into his emotions.
