NASHVILLE, TENN. (June 7, 2024) — Building on a series of back-to-back breakout hits, MULTI-PLATINUM chart-topper Matt Stell confirms his status as a fearless artist-songwriter today (6/7), delivering his long-anticipated debut albumBorn Lonely, via RECORDS Nashville.  A raw-yet-propulsive example of ripping the bandages off a wounded soul, the self-penned set is filled with unapologetic vulnerability and anthemic revelation, taking Stell’s career to the next level. Available everywhere, listen here.

With over half a BILLION global streams to his credit already, the Country star launched his rise with a pair of co-written, consecutive #1s – the 2X PLATINUM “Prayed For You” and PLATINUM “Everywhere But On.” But now, he aims for bold, unvarnished honesty like never before.

Born Lonely is finally out. This one means the world to me, and I hope it means something to y’all. Thanks so much for listening,” shares Stell.

Filled with self-searching anthems and saved-by-love balladry, Born Lonely emerges as the sonic fingerprint of a man shaped by his past – the truth pouring out in a modern Country rush. Featuring 10 tracks all co-written by Stell, the project revolves around a guarded heart now fighting to open up, digging deep into a life story of separation and loneliness to break a broken pattern. Embracing the tender side of masculinity, Stell stands tall in the face of entrenched heartbreak, healing, and more, ultimately finding peace through music and love – and helping others do the same.

With production by Joe Fox and Chris DeStefano, a sturdy Heartland mix matches the Arkansas native’s Country confessions with Hard Rock muscle, as heavy drums and roaring guitars join quiet moments of clarity. Meanwhile, Stell wields his gripping vocal like a true craftsman, building each track with heartfelt blocks of small-town soul.

Currently nearing Country radio’s Top 35 and climbing, the warning-labeled single “Breakin’ in Boots” leads the statement-making album, with even more unfiltered sonic grit on tap. Joining the autobiographical “Born Lonely” is tracks like the all-in “Take the Girl” and Stell’s cycle-breaking emotional stunner, “Built by Broken Hearts” – plus pensive ballad “Smooth.” Available today (6/7), the atmospheric standout traces the ripple effects of changing times, featuring a quiet acoustic guitar and piano presentation, as Stell’s granite-hewn vocal laments a lost way of rural life. Written by Stell and Chris DeStefano, the Joe Fox-produced track is complemented by the adjoining music video directed by Dustin Haney.
