Nashville, TN, February 6, 2023- Riser House/Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville #1 hitmaker Mitchell Tenpenny played back-to-back SOLD-OUT hometown concerts at the Ryman Auditorium over the weekend. Surprise guests appearing with him included Steven Curtis Chapman, Meghan Patrick and Alana Springsteen along with Warner Music Nashville’s Tyler Braden, who is opening all dates on Mitchell’s 2023 “This Is The Heavy Tour."
Sony Music Nashville team members joined Mitchell on stage to present an RIAA Platinum certification plaque for his #1 song “Truth About You.”
During the concert Mitchell repeatedly thanked his fans for their support, “I’ve been able to check a lot of things off my bucket list because you’ve streamed the music and supported me, likely selling out back-to-back nights at the Ryman. You helped us get back on country radio and have changed our lives forever!”
On Friday night, Christian music icon Steven Curtis Chapman made a surprise appearance and joined Mitchell on stage to perform their new version of Steven’s hit, “Don’t Lose Heart.” The song is about never giving up and not losing hope has special meaning to Mitchell as his mother is currently battling breast cancer. It’s set for release on February 17.
Mitchell’s artist/songwriter wife Meghan Patrick made guest appearances on Friday and Saturday night, and they performed “Long As You Let Me." Check out Meghan’s brand-new single out now “She’s No Good For Me.” She says, “If you’re in the process of trying to leave behind a version of yourself that no longer serves you… this song is for you. If you’ve already left them and you’re feeling strong and empowered, this song is for you. If you’re having a hard time giving yourself a little grace while you figure out how to even start, this song is for you.”
Alana Springsteen made surprise appearances on both nights, and they performed her soon-to-be-released track featuring Mitchell, “goodbye looks good on you,” that they co-wrote. The slow-burning duet will be included on Messing It Up, the first installment of her hotly anticipated debut album, TWENTY SOMETHING.
2023 MusicRow Next Big Thing artist and fan-favorite country rocker Tyler Braden opened both nights with a set that included current single “Try Losing One.” Braden is due to release his brand-new EP, Neon Grave, March 3 on Warner Music Nashville.
