LEADING 2017 ACM NOMINEE (7) KEITH
URBAN RELEASES BRAND NEW MUSIC VIDEO
FEATURING CARRIE UNDERWOOD
“THE MAKING OF ‘THE FIGHTER’
RELEASED WIDE TODAY
Leading
ACM nominee (7) and four-time Grammy Award winner Keith Urban today released
‘the making of ‘The Fighter,’ on the heels of yesterday’s premiere of the brand new music video for his latest song “The Fighter,”
featuring Carrie Underwood. The video, which can be seen at smarturl.it/fightervideo was
shot last month in Nashville and reunites Urban with John Urbano, who directed
“Cop Car,” “Somewhere In My Car,” and “Wasted Time.” It marks the fourth music video and single
release from Urban’s historic album RIPCORD,
which debuted simultaneously at #1 in three countries. It also received a nomination from the
Academy of Country Music this past Wednesday, for Album of the Year.
Released
this week, “The Fighter,” has long been a RIPCORD
fan favorite. It first emerged during RIPCORD’s
release week when Urban famously recorded his own carpool karaoke of the song,
with wife Nicole Kidman.
“The
original inspiration for the video came from an old photograph of the Mohammad
Ali, Joe Frazier fight from the early 70s,” explains director John Urbano on a
behind the scenes video short that can be seen at smarturl.it/FighterVideoBTS. “It (the photo) inspired the idea of
light. So we’re hinting at a fight
through lighting. I also had this idea
to tell this story through dance interpretation...”
Added
Urban, “John said, ‘I know this girl who dances, sort of street dancing, I
don’t even know what it is,’ but it was so good and John said ‘listen to the
song and watch her dance at the same time’ and they just went together so
incredibly well….”
